Meet Peter Lipman

Peter Lipman

I am a very experienced piano teacher. I was chair then CEO of the European Piano Teachers Association (UK). I offer friendly and relaxed lessons for all ages and abilities. I currently have students aged 7 to 76 – half are adults.

Tuition is provided on a Yamaha C3 grand piano in my own home or via Zoom.

I also teach theory, aural skills, musicianship and history of music.

My aim to is to help students discover and grow their musical passions.

Each student has an individual programme of learning. I welcome beginners or experienced players, children and adults.

I teach for fun and/or ABRSM or Trinity/Guildhall graded exams – nearly three quarters of my pupils gain merits or distinctions in their exams. All my grade 8 students have got either a merit or distinction. I specialise in preparation for grade 5 theory exams. I teach diploma students in piano teaching to help them develop a more systematic and reflective approach to piano teaching.

I have been fully DBS (CRB) enhanced checked to ensure total peace of mind for parents.

If you have any questions or would like further information, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I am available to teach during the afternoon and evenings on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and on Saturday mornings.

“Peter is a great teacher. I find his lessons really motivating.”
