About me

My name is Peter Lipman (MA MEd MMus LLB Hons FVCM FSCO ATCL DipMus DipABRSM Cert PTC) and I have over forty years’ teaching experience. I was the chair and then the CEO of the European Piano Teachers Association (UK).

After a successful career in education and general management (including being a deputy director of education, a principal school and college inspector, five directorships and being an acting chief executive in councils), I decided in 2009 to concentrate on a career in music.

I hold a LLB Honours degree and three master’s degrees from Warwick, Brunel and the Open University. I am a fellow of Victoria College of Music. I have a diploma in music performance, another in musicology, and gained a distinction in the ATCL Teaching Diploma. I was awarded the European Piano Teachers’ Association Certificate with merit, and was a trustee and interim chair of EPTA (UK) in 2021 and I was its CEO from 2021 to 2023.
